SWISH! GM is Back

You can make an argument that the draft is the single most important event for a basketball general manager. If you make the right pick, your franchise could be set for years to come. However, squandering the same opportunity could set the development of your team back or even see you fired! In SWISH! GM those same stakes apply as well, so as a GM you must be familiar with how scouting and drafting work.

Scouting Prospects

There are a lot of unknowns when scouting a player. But to be honest, some players have a lot more knowns while others may have a lot more unknowns. You typically know why the #1 ranked prospect is rated such and what he's good at.

In SWISH! GM, this is manifested by displaying all A+, A, A- and F grades without the use of a scout.

The remaning prospect grades are represented by ?'s and require one scout/day to uncover. How many scouts you have per day is dependent on your allocated scouting budget. As you scout more grades you will start to reveal more about the player including their Offensive or Defensive IQs and ultimately their values.

Ordering Your Big Board

As you uncover more about the prospects you're scouting, the next step is ordering them accordingly. In SWISH! GM, you have a draggable Big Board which allows you to easily move players up and down your rankings. Additionally, you can designate players as Do Not Draft and keep them off your Big Board entirely.

Drafting a Prospect

On Draft Day the new Draft Room screen opens up. This is an integrated UI for all of your draft needs.

At the top it provides which team is On The Clock as well as the countdown timer. Underneath, a reference to the last player drafted, including his newly unveiled value now that he's been converted from Prospect to Player.

Below that are the remaining players on your Big Board. The option to draft the players are conveniently beside each player for easy access during the limited time. If you are unable to make a selection for your team in time before the countdown expires, your team will draft the top player in your Big Board. So make sure it's set accordingly!

Finally, on the bottom of the screen contains the Draft Results. This is a scrollable view where you can quickly peruse all of the drafted prospects so far.
